About Oboé By Lu Marinho

Introducing Oboé By Lu Marinho, a restaurant in Braga that feels both polished and welcoming from the moment you step in. Located at R. Dr. Gonçalo Sampaio 16/18, 4700-308 Braga, Portugal, this spot sits comfortably in the city’s dining scene while keeping its own personality. I like how the atmosphere balances relaxed conversation with a refined edge, making it an easy choice for casual lunches, unhurried dinners, or small celebrations. The space works just as well for a quiet table indoors as it does for outdoor seating when the weather invites you to linger.

What really stands out is the way the menu speaks to different moods and tastes without trying too hard. You’ll find a thoughtful range of offerings, from coffee that works for a mid-day pause to cocktails and wine that fit a longer evening. Alcohol, beer, spirits, and well-chosen drinks make it simple to settle in, while vegetarian and vegan options ensure no one at the table feels like an afterthought. I also appreciate the availability of a private dining room, which adds flexibility for more personal gatherings or business-style meals.

From my perspective, the vibe leans toward a modern restaurant that still feels approachable, not stiff or overdesigned. The room encourages conversation, whether you arrive for a quick bite or plan to stay awhile with friends. Coffee during the day flows naturally into wine or cocktails later on, which makes the place feel flexible rather than time-bound.

Service options are another reason Oboé By Lu Marinho feels easy to recommend. Dine-in is clearly the heart of the experience, yet takeaway and delivery extend that same comfort beyond the dining room. On-site services are smooth and attentive, without being intrusive, and the team keeps things flowing naturally. Overall, the restaurant gives the impression of a place designed for people who enjoy good food, good drinks, and good company, all without unnecessary fuss.

Two weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to visit Portugal, and one of the highlights of my trip was dining at Oboé by Lu Marinho. I can honestly say I had the best bacalhau Oboé of my life there! The flavors, the presentation, the atmosphere—everything was absolutely perfect. You can feel the love and tradition in every bite. If you’re ever in Portugal, do yourself a favor and visit this restaurant. It’s an unforgettable culinary experience that truly captures the heart of Portuguese cuisine. Highly recommended!

I had dinner with my best friend yesterday that I hadn't seen in a long time. I had a great experience, it blew my expectations out of the water. I ordered the filet mignon and my friend ordered the octopus risotto. I tried both and I can honestly say it is the best food I've had in my Portugal trip. I definitely recommend it and will be coming back next time I am in town.

The best restaurant in Braga that is worth the trip. We live in Miami and are here especially to also try Oboé.

We cannot recommend Oboe Braga enough! After struggling to find the perfect place for our wedding welcome drinks in Braga, we booked Oboe very last minute, and they absolutely exceeded our expectations. From the moment our guests arrived, we felt like celebrities! They had a beautiful welcome board, a red carpet, and were handing out glasses of bubbles as everyone entered—such a classy touch. The atmosphere was electric with a DJ playing incredible music, keeping the vibe fun and energetic throughout. The food and drinks were in constant supply, which our guests really appreciated. They even surprised us with a stunning sparkler celebration, making the evening feel even more magical. The entire experience was seamless and unforgettable. It truly set the perfect tone for our wedding weekend. Thank you, Oboe Braga, for making our special day even more extraordinary!

Go now and eat here! Truly delicious - and a bit removed from the touristy fray. I had a great dinner here - the restaurant is new and I hope it thrives. The shrimp in garlic and olive oil was the best I've had on the Iberian peninsula (and I've had a lot) and the Lemon Chickpea Risotto might not trip your light fantastic by description alone, but it was INCREDIBLE - perhaps the best risotto I've ever had. So balanced and chewy and delicious. Loved it here - and you can get either a super hip seat inside or a beautiful view the chruch in the square outside. The service, too, was great.

HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!! We are a group of food lovers and we were totally blown away by our experience at Oboé. In particular, we recommend the burger (my friend said it’s the best burger he’s ever had), the carbonara pasta, and the berry pie dessert. The drinks were delicious and well made too. Also, the service here was excellent. We couldn’t be happier.
